Sightline Capital

About the firm

Six partners who have all sat in the CFO’s chair

Sightline started in 2011 with a simple observation: owner-managed companies need a CFO’s judgement long before they can justify a CFO’s salary. We have been filling that gap ever since.

Why a small firm

The large advisory firms are built for large companies. Their fees assume a deal size, and their teams assume a finance department on the other side of the table. Owner-managed companies get the junior end of that model.

We built the opposite. Every engagement is led and largely done by a partner. We work with around thirty companies at a time, most of them for more than a year, and we turn down work that would stretch us.

Our clients are manufacturers, distributors, clinics, software firms, trades and professional-services businesses — typically family-owned or founder-led, with between 20 and 400 staff.

The partners

Who picks up the phone

No photos, on purpose: you will meet whichever partner fits your problem on the first call.

How we hold ourselves to account

A whiteboard with to-do, in-progress and done columns and sticky notes for a tax report and contracts
  • We say no

About a third of first calls end with us recommending something else — a bookkeeper, an accountant, or doing nothing yet. It is why the other two thirds trust the advice.

  • The numbers are yours

Every model, pack and forecast is built in your files and handed over. You should never need us to open your own spreadsheet.

  • Five clients per partner

Capacity is capped so that the partner on your engagement can pick up the phone the same day.

  • Fees agreed before work

A written scope and price, every time. Extra work is quoted before it happens, never billed after.
